May 24, 2022
Beth Kahiga, the Executive Director of Napa Valley Support Services (NVSS), has announced her retirement, as of July 29, 2022.
The Board of Directors, staff, and the people we serve will miss her. After forty-five years as an NVSS employee, the Board wishes her well, and is grateful to have had her at the helm, providing exceptional leadership.
The Board of Directors has created a search committee and hired recruiters to assist in the recruitment of a new Executive Director. If the search is ongoing after Beth leaves, Anita Pomeroy, the NVSS Human Resources Administrative Director, will be the interim Executive Director. Two long-time employees would assist Anita in the management of the agency: Jeannie Smith the Program Director of Napa Personnel Systems; Emmy Bennett the Program Director for Imperial Way and Brown Street Gallery Day Services Programs.
The past two years have been challenging. Getting the programs back to full speed remains a complicated task, given the uncertainties brought by COVID19. I am confident that in Beth’s absence the Board, Anita, and all the NVSS staff working together would have the enthusiasm and horsepower sufficient to keep us moving forward until a new Executive Director takes the helm.
Napa Valley Support Services will steadfastly continue its mission: “To support the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through a person-centered approach to self-discovery, community engagement, employment, and education.”
Sincerely,
Robert (Bob) Nations
President of the Board of Directors
